Stories told across the years Filled with hopes And touched with fears Transparent tales told by one A witness always on the run Immaterial is he From fate he is forever free Begging outcome, always sought Future found is fully wrought

Dreamer awaken to the daylight’s command Your dream has been taken by shadowy hand Arise to the moment for the vision is ripe Receiving bestowment, rejecting the hype An enemy’s capture, held without bail Detention of rapture, a vision’s travail A seed that has died now springs into view The time will decide as it rises in you! (chorus) Dreamer awaken Your future fulfill Dreamer awaken New meaning distill (bridge) Relentless the climb, pursued by betrayal Birth of the time, intensive travail Child of the Day emerging in Light You dare to obey when the moment is right A dream full of Power now blazes anew To conquer the hour, to speak out what’s true New hope will arise as the righteous now shine Truth will advise and evil decline (chorus)

Sunrise 10:16
I lay quietly in darkness I am shrouded by the night At the pinnacle of progress I brought wonder and delight But now I am so empty Expended and released Counted as a relic Forgotten and deceased (chorus) There was a night I was the sunrise I brought the day Into the sky I left a sign So all could follow But it simply blew away Upon a stage I was the actor Where seven bearers intercede Clothed in garments filled with splendor Giving life in dire need They were proof against the darkness Filled with strength against the night We joined in bold commitment A dream was taking flight (chorus) I am cold As a shadow in space I am hot As Creation’s fire I am lifted to my nest I am mated with desire I embark On wonderful trails To find Where the Cold Lady sails There was a day They watched in wonder Millions of eyes Beheld my climb I broke the bonds Cast them asunder As I blew them all away But that was in another year A strident passing time And now I lay a victim Retired in my prime No more to race the sunset No more to light the skies Emptied of the meaning I’m filled with only sighs (chorus) There was a day I spoke like thunder All would heed My mighty cry But now they turn To mourn my passing Consigned to yesterday

Two Trees was a Native man His life began to fade Few could run the race he ran Or live the life he made Alone on Hunter Island For more than fifty years No white man ever saw him No red man dried his tears (chorus) He was the last Algonquin Sole survivor of his kind The last Algonquin Out of sight and out of mind In the home of the brave I was a boy on Hunter Island Searching in the wild Studying the animals A most precocious child One day Two Trees found me He said, “Good day, I am Joe” And he began to teach me Secret things that Indians know (chorus) He said a plan comes from the Maker And ripens in the heart In prayer a path is taken In dreams the plan will start Gradually I came to know That I had been the first In over half a century When white men were the worst He chose to pass on what he could To a young inquisitive boy Before he traded mortal pain For bright Eternal joy (chorus) The last time I saw Two Trees Was Christmas Eve of ’24 Joe was desperately ill Past the reach of Indian lore I ran to tell my father And he and Mom agreed We’d bring the Indian to our house And warm him in his need On Christmas Day we hurried forth With fresh snow on the ground We rushed to Joe’s encampment But he was not around No fire had been lit No trail in the snows Joe was far away Across the Milky Way he goes… (chorus)

I stand before a wall I long for You to speak Save this man from dreaded fall Lift me up for I am weak I cannot pass this gate I cannot find the key I swirl in a fate That defies my destiny (chorus) So easily consumed by a small charade Reality entombed by an escapade This minor dark deceit This device of satan’s schemes Is attacking the inception Of bright and shining dreams Father, please forgive My doubt and pain and sin I cry out to be free From turmoil deep within (chorus) (bridge) From the scene of this demise from the death of my disgrace By God’s Grace I will arise to be a victor in the race! (chorus) To end it in the making To snuff it at the start I reach now for the taking And quench the fiery dart Though wasteland lay before You renew me once again For You have written me a Word And You have called me, “friend” The Daylight brings an end To the small charade An enemy retreats From broken barricade A prophecy of faith Comes in a cavalcade The victory of peace For which we all have prayed! The Daylight now bids you arise With Glory you cannot evade A future of wide open skies Demolishes small charade!

Against the chill she wore a coat As ocean spray blew across the boat To Edisto Amelia came To island rich in wealth and fame Betrothed unto a Charleston man She came to share the wedding plan But she fell in love with a planter there Amelia: fickle, vain, and fair From Brick House prim Amelia wrote Her fiancé a parting note But he appeared demanding why Their wedding plans should ever die Amelia loved the planter now They had made an engagement vow Scorned and hurt the suitor said “I would rather see you dead!” (chorus) Once Amelia walked upon The island beaches where She rode the swelling tide Of love so free Brick House trimmed in black Now grieves the loss of one so fair As ebbing tide returns Unto the sea The wedding day dawned bright and blue Amelia’s face a rosy hue Brick House filled with guests and food And smiling groom in festive mood The mistress and her faithful Maum Retired to an upper room She wrapped herself in wedding gown Brought across the bay from town Maum Tamer went just down the hall Amelia heard a whispered call The window sash was open wide The moon was full and white outside Two shots tore through that tragic night The groom ran up the stairs in fright Bloody handprint on the wall Amelia lay upon the floor (chorus) Brick House burned in ‘28 No one alive saw Amelia’s fate Her charm once graced this ocean isle If only for a little while Some say on a moonlit night When Brick House ruins shine alight In wedding gown Amelia stands In window looking o’er the sands (chorus)

The Opera 09:18
It started out so bright and full of purpose Filling with a wonder that never ends Few there were that followed to fulfillment The rest became legitimate With the hubris that it lends So I bought myself a ticket to the opera Sat in upon the sordid little play I waited for the mournful song of August With lyrics not a one could sing or say (chorus) An evening at the opera A strained adagio A passing vain ephemera A tragic cameo But a bold contentious actor hit the spotlight In a language never heard he began to pray And one among the multitude observing Stood, then loud and clear was heard to say “Authority to you was never given You are walking in another’s guise“ So I waited for the joyful bells of Christmas But only heard October sighs (chorus) The wintertime was long and cold and deadly Few there were that lived to tell the tale Bold contentious actor in the spotlight Stood frozen in another season’s veil February’s song went on forever A hundred years of winter give or take a day With a flourish springtime then invaded As Aslan’s echoed roar began to fade away April came rejoicing with a song of life (chorus) The director, growing bored, compelled the story To an artificial non-existent joyful end But the stage rejected empty allegory There still remained a mountain that we must ascend Climbing ever higher The journey never ends Rise up beyond the summit While the audience pretends

I walk upon the road My destination’s clear I’m carrying no load I’ve forgotten every fear And hope begins to rise within And vanquish every pain And I’ve never felt this way before (Never before) (chorus) Comes the morning I awaken As the sleep flees my eyes By the Truth I am taken From a kingdom of lies And I fly beyond tomorrow Beyond time and all of space To a Land where there’s no sorrow As I turn to see Your Face Your Face! A destination nears I don’t believe my eyes As I watch my vision clears And I think I recognize The ending of a highway The beginning of a dream And I’ve never felt this way before (never before) (chorus) And I fly beyond the future Tie and space I now transcend To the Land where my Redeemer Is the Beginning and the End The End!

Tomorrows 05:05
Once in lonely moments A secret will unfold Passion of the present Is a tale to be told Yesterday was such a thrill But it’s time to pay Can you deal with your tomorrows? With the past in light of day? When the whispers turn to shouting’s Have you planned what you will say? In your darkest hour Will friendship fade away? How can trusted people Say the things they say? Now you’re standing all alone Thoughts are dark and gray Will the chains of your tomorrow Drag you into yesterday? Will you try to beg or borrow Just enough to get away? Run to the place That is higher than you An end of the chase Feel strength make you new Power to face it And power to live Not your achievement But what He will give This will soon be yesterday And the past is gone Someone holds all your tomorrows See the sunrise of your dawn Feel the healing of your sorrows See the Light by which you’re drawn

Angels 06:09
Laid in the valley and bleached by the heat Relics of warfare gone down in defeat Wind in the willows is weeping for you Once you were mighty but now you are few Was the battle won when your life was done? I think the angels The heavenly throng I think the angels Remember your song Is dying an ending or only a start Of power that only a God could impart? Wind in the treetops a herald of youth New resurrection reveals the truth You will stand and win as you rise again I hear the angels Singing your song I hear the angels Time isn't long Bones long were laying alone and apart Now they unite to the beat of a Heart Creating a union where lifelessness lay The dryness and death comes alive in a day We will stand and shout at the enemy's rout I see the angels Leading the way I see the angels On victory day
